With newfound musical swagger, Melbourne’s multi-talented Kat Greta returns with a reimagined version of her debut track “Let It Go.” This time, she’s front and center, delivering an alluring vocal performance in a fresh music video. Originally released in 2022 with Kat on drums, this new rendition marks a transformative moment driven by self-belief and artistic vision.
“When I first released the song, I wouldn’t dare sing it myself—I was the drummer, not the singer. Since then, I’ve embarked on a journey of growth, navigating personal struggles with mental health. Now, I feel empowered to share my stories in my own voice. This song symbolises a fresh start that holds deep personal meaning.”
Set to drop in August, the reimagined EP “Get Up & Go” promises to be as bold and exciting as the single.
Kat Greta’s musical journey began early, starting with a toy xylophone and progressing to her first Pearl drum kit at 15. She further honed her skills at VCA, evolving into a versatile percussionist. Passionate about composition, she also studied classical piano under notable pianists Anatoly Dokumentov and Igor Machlak.
The ‘Let It Go’ music video features new scenes shot at the original beach location, blending past drum performances with her current vocal prowess. “It reflects my growth, intertwining elements of my past with my current artist identity.”
Filmed around Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula—places dear to Kat—the video and song convey her belief in embracing life fully. Co-produced, mixed, and mastered by Lindsay Gravina (Adalita, Eskimo Joe, The Living End) at Birdland Studios, ‘Let It Go’ captures Kat Greta’s musical rebirth with clarity and passion.
